I've tried disconnecting cables, powering off and on the pc and monitor. This allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. When it enters sleep mode after 5 or 10 minutes and i come back within an hour or so, it wakes up just fine. Moving the cursor and touching the keyboard does not get it out of that mode easily. I am unable to get back without shutting my computer off and starting again.
